The College Football Playoff semifinals are set, and we now know the final four teams that will compete for the national championship.

Texas will face Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl, while Notre Dame will take on Penn State in the Orange Bowl. The Longhorns advanced after wins over Clemson and Arizona State, and Ohio State punched their ticket with an impressive win over Oregon.

Penn State is in the final four after defeating SMU and Boise State in the Playoff, while Notre Dame has wins over Indiana and Georgia so far.

All four teams have shown the ability to get wins in big games, but the stakes are only going to increase as we get closer to crowning a national champion.

With only four teams left in the field, one FOX Sports commentator made a bold claim about the rest of the College Football Playoff.

During Friday's episode of Fox Sports 1's "First Things First," Nick Wright predicted that one team would come away with the national title.

"I think Notre Dame is going to win the national championship," Wright said, to the surprise of former NFL wide receiver Greg Jennings.

Jennings said that the national title was Ohio State's to lose, and Wright responded by saying that Ryan Day "would find a way to lose it."

"By the way, the fact that Ohio State or Texas is playing in the national championship game is dope, and the fact that it's not one of those fugazi Notre Dame teams that we've seen in the national championship before."

The hosts of the show agreed that "nobody wants to see another Penn State-Ohio State game," so it appears that everyone is on board with Notre Dame advancing to the national championship to face either the Buckeyes or the Longhorns.

When Notre Dame or Penn State advance to the national title game, they will be making history. Either James Franklin or Marcus Freeman will be the first Black head coach to participate in an FBS national title game, a landmark moment for the sport of college football.

We'll see which team emerges victorious and sets themselves up for a spot in the national championship when the Fighting Irish take on the Nittany Lions in Florida next week.
