NFL Security Team Accused Of Allowing 'Gross' Fan Behavior In Week 18

The Detroit Lions may have won their Week 18 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, but the fan base's reputation took a hit in the process.
Earlier this week, the wife of Vikings offensive lineman Dalton Risner revealed that she was "touched" by fans at the stadium. Whitney Risner also said she was "heckled" throughout the NFC North matchup.
"Last year, I wore a flashy purple jacket, and I've never been heckled so much at an away game," she said in a social media video. "Little did I know that I would be heckled, touched and called names at last night's game by Detroit fans (Simply for being Vikings fans)."
Unfortunately, this isn't the only disturbing story shared from Sunday night's game. A Minnesota fan with the nickname "Viking Ness" detailed her experience on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Apparently, multiple men made contact with shoulder pads that "Viking Ness" was wearing at the stadium. Some even called her vulgar names. And yet, security allegedly did nothing about it.
"This was my 4th stadium to visit this season and the experience was horrendous. Some of these male Lions fans were raised by wild animals," she wrote. "I wear football shoulder pads and I lost count of how many men hit my pads as I walked by. I had my horns taken from my head and some good fans had to chase them down. I was physically blocked from being able to walk so that I could have obscenities screamed inches from my face.
"One man acted like he was going to punch me in the face and came centimeters from my mouth... Security laughed and turned their back. You won, Detroit, no need to be [expletives]."
The Vikings fan finished her rant by sharing this message: "What is the worst for me is it is all women who had these experiences and it was men being aggressive. Absolutely gross behavior."
If this story is true, that's a horrible look for the security team at Ford Field.
The Lions have not yet commented on these allegations. Perhaps they're gathering more information at this time.
With the playoffs set to begin this week, the last thing the NFL wants is for fans to have ugly experiences like this. We certainly hope fans are on their best behavior this weekend.
