There's One Landing Spot For Aaron Rodgers That's Gaining Steam

The 2024 NFL season seemed to show two things: That Aaron Rodgers is a terribly poor fit for the terribly-run New York Jets, and that Aaron Rodgers still has a little gas left in the tank. Is a change of scenery all he needs to end his career with a Super Bowl?
As Rodgers heads into an offseason of uncertainty that could see him either retire or simply be released by the Jets, there are a growing number of analysts and insiders who believe that Week 18 was not the last week we'll see him under center.
Appearing on Let's Go! on SiriusXM, longtime NFL insider Peter King suggested that Rodgers could be a target for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025. He argued that the Steelers are in a win-now mode due to all of the talent they have on defense and believes Rodgers would make the Steelers more competitive with the likes of the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals, who both boast elite quarterbacks.
"I think we have seen Russell Wilson hit a wall and whether Mike Tomlin is even thinking about 2025... If I were the Pittsburgh Steelers... I would want to come in and get a quarterback who could make me competitive with Baltimore and Cincinnati. And that guy to me would be Aaron Rodgers," King said.

Steelers fans, on the other hand, were not nearly as amused by the idea as King seemed to be. Just about everyone who saw the click believes that if Wilson was a bad pick because of how old he is, Rodgers could only be worse:
"No. Please no. Rodgers is past his prime and extremely dislikeable. Quit looking to fill a need with other team's castaways," one user replied.
"That would be so idiotic. He's too old! You want to replace washed up Russ with someone even older?! Start Fields. See what happens. Worst case scenario is we have one (expletive) season then we can draft high in 2026," wrote another.
"Did he have a bad year no but to think he could fix our mess is not gonna happen at this point it's a coaching issues," a third remarked.
Rodgers as a team's starting quarterback is going to be a tough sell to a team with any level of stability given how quickly things unraveled in New York while he was the starter.
But if the Steelers could make the playoffs with the duo of Justin Fields and Russell Wilson as their starters, it's hard to completely rule out Rodgers replicating the feat.
