Joe Biden Is Getting Ripped For Medal Of Freedom Decision

President Joe Biden is getting absolutely ripped to shreds this weekend for an announcement he hasn't even made yet this Saturday.  

Biden is expected to officially reward the latest round of Medal of Freedom recipients at the White House. Sports fans learned that two prominent athletes will receive an honorary medal. The first athlete is Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson. The second is international soccer star Lionel Messi. 

It's also been reported that Denzel Washington, Bono, Michael J. Fox, Anna Wintour and Ralph Lauren will receive medals. The White House released a brief statement regarding this star-studded group. 

"These 19 individuals are great leaders who have made America and the world a better place," the statement added. "They are great leaders because they are good people who have made extraordinary contributions to their country and the world."

While the White House may view Messi as a "great leader," it's pretty evident that a lot of people disagree with Biden's decision to reward him with the nation's highest civilian honor.

"Biden's intern must be a football fan," one person wrote on X. 

"He hasn't done anything remotely deserving of this honor," a second person tweeted. 

Another person asked, "The Presidential Medal of Freedom to Messi for what exactly?"

"Congrats you can kick a ball with your foot heres a medal and millions of dollars," a fourth person said. 

Messi is regarded as one of, if not the greatest soccer player of his generation. He's had success at Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Miami. Of course, he's been great at the international level as well, leading Argentina to a World Cup title in 2022. 

There's no question Messi is an exceptional leader on the pitch. All of his teammates praise him. Does he deserve a Medal of Freedom? We'll leave that for you to judge.
