WWE Money in the Bank 2024 Highlight & Low Point? | Question of the Day

Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day—with this one focusing on last night’s WWE Money in the Bank 2024 premium live event.

While the fallout of the event has yet to be witnessed, we can have our immediate reaction to what transpired. All the titles stayed where they were, one Money in the Bank briefcase is still in play while the other has already been wasted, The Bloodline scored a win over Cody Rhodes and his crew, and John Cena announced his retirement tour.

Out of everything that went down, your question is simple: “What was the biggest highlight and the biggest low point of Money in the Bank 2024?”

Remember to answer in the comments below!

As far as my response goes…

Biggest Low Point of MITB 2024

I get why all of the decisions were made on this event. That doesn’t mean I have to agree with them. Most of what happened, I do sign off on, but one of them…not so much.

Was it really that important to have a babyface win and give Sami Zayn a Toronto victory? I think Bron Breakker should have captured the Intercontinental Championship, instead.

Breakker would have gotten heat for winning the title. Toronto wouldn’t have been happy about that. But he’s a heel; that’s supposed to happen! And now, WWE has two options ahead of them. Either 1) they don’t give that title to Breakker, which I feel is a big disappointment considering how over he is and how much potential is there, or 2) there’s an unnecessary rematch that comes about through methods that don’t make sense, as Breakker lost clean, and this was just a stall tactic to delay and drag this out for another few weeks.

The belt doesn’t need to change hands at SummerSlam. Nothing else was on the line that prevented Zayn from losing here. Breakker failing to win a second attempt doesn’t do anything for his character except downgrade him before the upgrade (unnecessarily).

I just don’t think it was as important to go with Zayn winning.

Biggest Highlight of MITB 2024

I know a lot of people are going to say their low point was Drew McIntyre failing his cash in. But to me, that was arguably the best part of the show.

Major credit to the women’s ladder match, but I think the “twist” (even if I saw it coming from a mile away, and I’m sure many others did, too) of having Drew be so upset about the Money in the Bank cash-in at WrestleMania that he tries to do the same thing, only to fail again because of CM Punk getting in the way, has pushed that story to its next logical conclusion.

The other guys holding the briefcase later on could have resulted in some options, sure. I’d have been down to see Carmelo Hayes get a future title shot and all. But I don’t have faith WWE would have told as coherent of a storyline with any of them as they did with this failed cash-in. Plus, it doesn’t hurt McIntyre in the way that many others who have failed in the past (like Baron Corbin or Damien Sandow) ended up looking bad.

I’m more excited to see Punk vs. McIntyre than I was before, I like how that helps set up Punk against Seth Rollins for inadvertently screwing him as well, and I’m also interested in how this is going to play out for SummerSlam. All wins, minus how we don’t have another briefcase to toss around for the next few months.
