Jake and Adam chat with the ZiPS creator.

Hello, Scooter here, filling for Jake this week in writing the podcast synopsis post, but don't worry Jake still did all the important work in the interviewing and editing (you would not like how that would turn out if I tried to do it). We have another episode of the Viva El Birdos podcast for you all this week, this time featuring Fangraphs writer and Esteemed Internet Personality Dan Szymborski. As you probably know, Dan is the creator of the ZiPS projection system prominently featured on Fangraphs and is probably the system used the most by readers and writers on Viva El Birdos. He wrote all about the system, its origin, some of his assumptions, and some changes he has made for 2025 on Fangraphs here.

We are still working on getting the podcast on more platforms — it will probably be after the holidays before there is more progress on that. Jake has been working very hard to take all your suggestions and migrate the podcast to multiple platforms. The podcast is really for you all, as another medium to get your fix of St. Louis Cardinals content, so of course the listeners are the priority, but it is a lot of work to put together and we certainly appreciate everyone's patience and constructive feedback! Thank you so much for listening — you can listen in browser by using the player embedded below!
