The Michigan football team is expected to boast one of the best rushing attacks in the nation this upcoming season and it will all be overseen by Tony Alford, the Wolverines’ recent running backs coach hire from Columbus, Ohio. Coach Sherrone Moore’s team stole Alford from the Ohio State Buckeyes and are hoping to continue their dominance in the trenches vs. Ohio State during ‘The Game’ this season.

On Saturday, the Wolverines picked up a commitment from a young man who could help them to continue their success in the run game: Jasper Parker. Parker is a Class of 2025 running back who chose the Wolverines over Alabama football and Miami football.

Parker’s pledge came as odds were revealed for the Michigan football vs. Ohio State game this fall. The Wolverines also landed a four-star safety from Washington, D.C.

Parker had complimentary words for the Wolverines’ program as he announced his decision.

The 6-foot, 195 pound running back from Marrero, Louisiana picked Michigan over Miami football, Alabama football, North Carolina football and Oklahoma State football. He added that Michigan is a “special place” and said he wants to be a “Michigan Man.”

Parker recruitment comes during big weekend

Parker’s pledge came during a big recruiting weekend for the Wolverines that saw them host numerous talented, high profile prospects.

Four four-stars and one five-star were among those included during the big Father’s Day weekend recruiting blitz for Coach Sherrone Moore and Coach Tony Alford’s team, setting the stage for more possible pledges.

This season the Wolverines return Donovan Edwards and running quarterback extraordinaire Alex Orji, along with numerous offensive linemen who have previous starting experience. How fast the offensive line gels and learns under new line coach Grant Newsome could determine the Wolverines’ fortunes this season, and whether Edwards becomes a first round pick caliber player.
