Daniel Jones Could Make Unfortunate NFL History This Sunday

When the New York Giants selected Daniel Jones with the sixth overall pick in the 2019 draft, this isn't the type of history they envisioned...
Per 366 Sports: "The NFL record for the most consecutive pass attempts without a TD pass is 154 attempts, held by Matt Ryan in 2021. Daniel Jones has now gone 139 attempts without a TD pass. He's 15 away from the record."
Through 61 career games, the Daniel Jones era has mostly been a nightmare for Giants fans.
After struggling to establish himself as an effective starting-level quarterback, New York rewarded the former Duke product with a four-year, $160 million contract that set the franchise back a few years.
Since signing that deal, Jones has thrown more pick-sixes (3) than touchdowns (2) and the Giants have been one of the worst teams in the NFC.
New York travels to Landover, MD tomorrow for a matchup with the division rival Commanders — a defense that was shredded by Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Bucs offense in Week 1.
With that said, the G-Men were only able to muster six points against the Minnesota Vikings and enter Sunday's game vs. Washington as 1.5-point underdogs.
It's hard to imagine Big Blue putting a worse offensive product on the field than it did to open the season. But you have to wonder about the confidence level of Jones and the rest of his teammates when he's out on the field playing like he has been.
