The Carolina Panthers really look like a franchise that has no idea what it's doing these days. Their decision to bench starting quarterback Bryce Young after just 18 games certainly has people more confident than ever that they're the worst-run organization in football.

On Wednesday's edition of ESPN's Get Up, football analyst Paul Finebaum - who followed Young's career closely during his time at Alabama - weighed in on the situation with the Panthers quarterback. Surprisingly, he placed more blame on the Panthers as an organization than on Young's individual failings. Finebaum asserted that the Panthers are so poorly run that they would have ruined the careers of Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning too.

"I blame the management of that franchise. I always thought (former Washington Commanders owner) Daniel Snyder was the worst owner in modern NFL history. Well, he's being rivaled by (Panthers owner) David Tepper. He has been a complete and total bust in Carolina... Bryce has not been given a fair chance. I think it really is embarrassing and disgraceful for what they have done to him," Finebaum said.

"And quite frankly, I think if you brought Patrick Mahomes into this franchise, Tom Brady or Peyton Manning as rookies, the Carolina Panthers would've screwed them up just as well as they did to poor Bryce Young. I feel sorry for the young man."

Fans are a bit mixed on whether Finebaum is right here. While many believe that the Panthers have been terribly run in recent years, others feel that Young is uniquely unqualified to be an NFL starter due to his size.

"This is the laziest take ever. 3 of the most gifted qbs of all time would've found success. Bryce young didn't because he is short and unathletic," one user replied.

"It's a dump right now. Canales & Morgan have to build it up before they take on anymore rookie QBs," another declared.

"Cam did just fine. Bryce just isn't good. Not that big of a deal. There's busts all the time," a third remarked.

Do you believe that Young's shortcomings are systemic, or are they his own fault?
