The growth of women's sports has been remarkable over the last few years, particularly at the college level.

Fans packed arenas around the country to see players like Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese during the NCAA tournament, and the Women's College World Series set attendance numbers in its own right.

There's no better example of the growth of women's sports than in Lincoln, Nebraska, where the Nebraska Cornhuskers' women's volleyball team is one of the best supported in the nation.

Nebraska has sold out every women's volleyball match it has held on campus since 2001, and that streak will continue on Wednesday night in a major way.

One journalist showed the line heading in for their matchup with Stanford, and it's truly a sight to behold.

Students are wrapped around the block to get into Wednesday's game, which will be between the No. 5 Huskers and the No. 2 Cardinal - one of the biggest volleyball matches of the season.

The Huskers have won five national championships in their storied history, and Stanford leads all Division I schools with nine. Nebraska nearly captured their sixth title last year, but lost to Texas in the national championship final.

Stanford is looking for its first national title since going back-to-back in both 2018 and 2019, part of a run that saw the team win three titles in a four-year span.

Wednesday's game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network, giving fans around the country a chance to see how well Nebraska supports women's volleyball.

The program and its fanbase were responsible for the largest attendance at a women's sporting event in American history last year, as over 92,000 fans packed Memorial Stadium for their match against Omaha.

The Huskers are 8-1 this season, and the matchup against Stanford is the first in a pair of meetings with top-five teams from the ACC. They'll travel to face No. 4 Louisville on the road on Sunday.
