Meet The Daughter Of Colin Cowherd (1:02)

Fox Sports' Colin Cowherd spent a good portion of last week ripping the New York Jets for their decision to fire head coach Robert Saleh. So how did he feel after the team's blockbuster trade for All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams?

Taking to X shortly before his Tuesday show, Cowherd spoke glowingly about the move and declared "all is not lost" for them in spite of their 2-4 record now that they have Adams. He went so far as to declare that the Jets will still be in playoff contention by the final few weeks of the season.

"A green shake in honor of the Jets," Cowherd said, holding up a green smoothie. "All is not lost. Davante Adams is now a Jet, they face a lot of bad quarterbacks coming up. It's interesting. 2-4 means you only have about an 11-percent chance to make the playoffs. I'm gonna stick with my belief - with or without Davante Adams - the Jets will vie for a playoff spot in Week 17."

Given that the Jets are now in the midst of a three-game losing streak, hope certainly seems lost. But Cowherd's not wrong when he points out that the schedule gets much easier moving forward.

The next five starting quarterbacks they play before their Week 12 bye have a combined three Pro Bowls (two for Kyler Murray, one for C.J. Stroud).

But the Jets are in a position where the margin for error is effectively nil. They probably need to beat at least four of those five teams in order to be in realistic playoff contention given who they face in December and January.

Will this trade push them over the top, or off the edge?
