AEW Blood & Guts returns on Wednesday, July 24th at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, and the lineup for that match is starting to finally take shape.

All we knew prior to tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite (July 3) was that it would be The Elite vs. Team AEW in some fashion. Four of the members of The Elite’s team were obvious in The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada and Jack Perry. The fifth member is still unknown. But Team AEW was entirely up in the air, as there are plenty wrestlers who could fill in those spots.

While it is far from set in stone, we do have one seemingly confirmed member of Team AEW now that Mark Briscoe declared himself as wanting to be a part of that crew in a few weeks.

This immediately led to him being punished for his dedication to All Elite Wrestling as he was attacked by Jack Perry. Kyle O’Reilly tried to make the save, but was then taken out by Kazuchika Okada. When The Young Bucks came out to join in the fray, they were eventually chased off by The Acclaimed.

The Elite’s last match in this fashion—Anarchy in the Arena at AEW Double or Nothing 2024—saw them defeat Bryan Danielson, Darby Allin, and FTR’s Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler.

Allin has been out with injuries, FTR wrestled one time limit draw match against Blackpool Combat Club on the June 8th edition of Collision, and Danielson has been busy focusing on the Owen Hart Cup.

With all that in mind, could this be as simple as Briscoe, O’Reilly, Max Caster, Anthony Bowens and Billy Gunn in Blood & Guts for Team AEW? Or will some others like Swerve Strickland, MJF, Will Ospreay or anyone else get involved instead?
