HARDY Appears On WWE SmackDown, Introduces AJ Styles + WWE Bad Blood 2024 Cold Open (Video)

American country music singer and songwriter HARDY opened this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown to welcome the fans and bring out the returning AJ Styles.

On this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, AJ Styles faced off against Carmelo Hayes in the opening contest. As we previously reported here on eWn, the match was stopped due to an “injury” to the Phenomenal One.

Styles originally came out to cut a promo about some of the bad things he’s done, including his actions leading up to his match with Cody Rhodes at WWE Clash at the Castle. Hayes then came out and mocked Styles, which resulted in a match being made.

While Hayes originally declined the match, LA Knight came out and said he'd argue for Hayes to get a shot at his US Championship if Hayes can beat Styles.

During a commercial break, Styles was seen being checked out by WWE’s medical staff for what the commentators referred to as an ankle injury. While the match briefly continued, it was stopped after Styles hit a neckbreaker over the bad leg and both men went down. Styles limped away from the ring under his own power.

As of this writing, there is no word on if Styles’ injury is legitimate or not.

Additionally, WWE has released the cold open video for Saturday night’s Bad Blood 2024 pay-per-view event.

The opening video of the pay-per-view event features Cody Rhodes, Triple H and music producer Metro Boomin.
