Hangman Adam Page, Bryan Danielson & Willow Nightingale Advance in Owen Hart Cup Tournament

Three matches in the 2024 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament took place on the July 3, 2024 edition of AEW Dynamite. Who advanced? Let’s break it down!
First up on the show was Bryan Danielson against PAC. In a hard-fought match that had both on top at various points, The American Dragon was victorious with a crucifix pinfall reversal.
Later in the night, Willow Nightingale took out her former best friend Kris Statlander, also with a roll-up pinning maneuver. Statlander had attempted to use a chain wrapped around her fist given to her by Stokely Hathaway. When Statlander almost hit Stokely instead, that momentary hesitation was enough for Nightingale to capitalize and get the win, advancing to the finals.
Next week, Nightingale will face the winner of Hikaru Shida vs. Mariah May (to be settled on this week’s episode of AEW Collision).

Finally, Jeff Jarrett’s Wild Card opponent turned out to be “Hangman” Adam Page, who had been brought back by The Young Bucks.
Page was victorious in their match and was approached later on by Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson backstage. The Young Bucks suggested that their lifting of his suspension and putting him in the tournament was them scratching his back, so he should scratch theirs in return and be the fifth member of The Elite’s team for Blood & Guts.
However, Page declined the offer, angrily stating that he isn’t their man anymore, doesn’t need any more of their games, and is in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament to win it, turning down the spot. At least…that is what we’re meant to believe. Never trust anything in professional wrestling.

Page will face Jay White on Collision to determine who faces Bryan Danielson in the finals next week in Calgary, Alberta, Canada at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
