Tommy Fury has restarted talks for a rematch with Jake Paul just days after pulling out of his ring return.

The Love Island star and unbeaten professional boxer defeated Paul in February of last year, handing the American his sole loss. He went on to defeat KSI on a Misfits Boxing event the following October, before taking a year out to recover from hand surgery.

He was due to return on January 18 against former UFC welterweight title contender Darren Till at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester. But due to a press conference comment from his opponent where he claimed he would throw a head kick if he was losing, Fury pulled out last week.

Tommy Fury declares he is open for talks with Jake Paul

After remaining quiet for the past few days following his pullout from January’s comeback, Tommy Fury returned to social media to take aim at Jake Paul. He hit back at claims that he was offered $8million for a fight on Netflix, which ultimately ended up going to Mike Tyson.

"Right, so I've just woke up and seen Logan Paul talk on his podcast yet again about how I don't wanna fight Jake and that I'm running scared," Fury said in an Instagram story, citing an episode of Logan’s Impaulsive podcast.

"I've seen Jake tweet the other day about how he offered me X, Y and Z on Netflix. I just wanted to come on here and say that no one's running from that fight. I beat you once already, I handed you your first loss.

“The minute you stepped up and fought a real boxer, you lost fair and square. I can give you a second loss, that's not a problem, but let's talk some serious numbers down the phone. If you want to get in touch, you know where I am. It's as easy as that. I can come back after a year and beat the pair of you.”

Jake Paul slams Tommy Fury after callout

Almost immediately after the video’s publication, the younger Paul brother took to social media to hit back at Fury’s callout. He reiterated claims that he had offered the Love Islander $8million to fight on Netflix, before claiming some other issues about his rival’s behind the scenes life.

“What absolute muppet,” Paul wrote. “Buddy you just pulled out of a fight for the 3rd time. You have ZERO credibility. I offered you $8M dollars and you ran away from it. And now you got dumped by Molly, getting sued by DAZN and still can't call a shot without your dad GTFOH.”

Paul is referring to Tommy’s father John Fury, who manages the majority of his career. ‘Big John’ is a divisive figure in the boxing world, who often manages to steal the limelight from his sons Tommy and two-time world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Tommy Fury pulled out of fight with Darren Till over press conference threat

Last week, Tommy Fury claimed that he was pulling out of his scheduled fight with Darren Till at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester. He claimed it was due to the MMA fighter’s claim that if he was losing the fight, he would simply kick his rival in the head.

Taking to Instagram stories, Fury wrote: “I can’t believe I’m writing this but I am now not fighting Darren Till on January 18th 2025.

“For the one simple reason being that Darren has stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is loosing the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics.

“I am a professional boxer, I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans. I have wasted weeks in training camp.

“We are working hard to get a new opponent and date. I promise to get a better opponent and better fight for you guys. Good news around the corner.”
