Randy Couture has given a fascinating insight into exactly what went down during his wrestling session with Francis Ngannou.

‘The Natural’ and ‘The Predator’ went toe-to-toe in a clash of two of the greatest heavyweights of all time.

Randy Couture says Francis Ngannou took him down with a double leg

In his esteemed career, Randy Couture solidified his place as a genuine legend, winning world titles in two weight divisions.

While possessing respectable striking skills, the athlete was renowned for his wrestling ability, competing around the world and winning the 1991 Pan American Championships.

Having now walked away from competition, the icon is helping guide the next generation at his gym — Xtreme Couture.

Francis Ngannou regularly trains at the facility, and once shared the mats with the UFC Hall of Famer during an eventful wrestling session.

In an interview on Verse Us, with Erick Nicksick, Couture, confessed: “It was a wrestling day…But man, first two were great, smaller guys. It felt good. And then, that third go, here’s Francis [Ngannou]. I’m like, ‘Here we go’.

“He blasted me with a double, man; I haven’t been blasted like that in forever. Sun disappeared. The whole five minutes I was on the bottom like, ‘Oh, this is going to look great’.”

While most start their professional MMA careers, in their early twenties, Couture didn’t grace the sport until his mid-thirties.

And he was in his forties for some of his biggest nights.

The combat sports titan has now revealed that people were calling him ‘Crazy’ ahead of his favorite UFC victory.
