JDM Hosting Fundraiser To Pay For UFC 315 Trip

Whether or not there is a real problem with UFC fighter pay, a title challenger should never have to raise money to fly his entire team to a fight.
Unfortunately, that's the exact position that welterweight contender Jack Della Maddalena finds himself in just six weeks out from his first-ever UFC title shot. The streaking Australian fighter is scheduled to headline UFC 315 on May 10 in Montreal, Canada, as he meets UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad in the main event.
Della Maddalena, who is 7-0 under the UFC banner since making his promotional debut in June 2022, will need some financial assistance to fly his entire team out to Montreal. In effort to do so, JDM and his team are hosting a fundraiser on April 14th at The Rivo Bar & Grill in Perth, Australia. Fans who decide to purchase a ticket will not only have a chance to meet the UFC contender and possibly drink a beer with him, but they'll be directly helping his trip to Canada in May.

All profit from the tickets will go towards getting the full team out to Montreal to support Jack on his mission for UFC gold. A world title shot for Perth's finest MMA son. Such a big opportunity that we will grasp with both hands. Believe it or not the UFC do not pay for anyone or anything but 6 nights accommodation and flights for 2.
The rest of the team are expected to pay their own way. We will be taking the full team for this huge fight. The 4 original Scrappy MMA OG's Jack, Ben Vickers, Ryan Gray and the one and only Josh Della."
The ongoing discussion about UFC fighter pay is its own thing, but should the promotion also be fronting all the cash for a team of four to travel across the world? Maybe UFC shouldn't do it for everyone, but helping a title challenger get to the big show sure seems like something the promotion should be covering.
