One night after Max Muncy made Dodger history, joining Justin Turner and Corey Seager as the all-time Dodger postseason home run leaders, Muncy made Major League history.
The veteran infielder walked in his first three plate appearances on Thursday in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series and singled in his fourth.
That made 12 consecutive times he reached base safely.
It's a Major League record for a single postseason series. It also tied the MLB postseason record for most consecutive times reaching base safely, joining Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson. Jackson's run began Oct. 16, 1977 and continued to reach its end on Oct. 4, 1978. Included in it was his legendary three-home run game in Game 6 of the 1977 World Series.
Muncy's run looked like this:

Muncy is 5-for-10 in this series with two home runs and eight walks. He is slashing .500/.722/1.100/1.822.

Max Muncy is the third player in postseason history to get three walks in two consecutive games, joining:
- Alex Bergman (HOU) , 2018 ALCS
- Jimmy Sheckard (CHC), 1910 WS
"It's remarkable. And leading the way is Max Muncy," said manager Dave Roberts. "I was just made aware that he set a postseason record with consecutive times on base. And yesterday, he didn't swing at one ball, one pitch out of the hitting zone. Given all the stuff and how you're seeing different arms. And the stuff, the velocity, the spin is so good and late, it's remarkable."
