Friday's Cotton Bowl between Ohio State and Texas is expected to be a great game.

Both teams are playing super well right now and are looking to carry that momentum into Friday with a berth in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on the line.

Ohio State beat Tennessee and Oregon to reach this point while Texas defeated Clemson and Arizona State.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian will face Ryan Day in Friday's game, and Sarkisian has nothing but respect for Day and the job he has done this season.

"Coach Day has done a great job. He's got a tremendous staff. Great talent on their team. They've navigated the season tremendously," Sarkisian said.

Day led the Buckeyes to a 10-2 record during the regular season, their only two losses coming against the Oregon Ducks and Michigan Wolverines. The Wolverines have been Day's kryptonite during his tenure in Columbus, having lost four straight against them.

They came into this year's matchup as a big favorite over the Wolverines but it didn't matter in a 13-10 loss at home.

That loss may have lit a fire in the team since they have blown out the Vols and Ducks since then. They're two wins away from their first national title in a decade and come into Friday's game as the favorite over the Longhorns.

The winner of this game will take on the winner of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish-Penn State Nittany Lions game that will be played on Thursday. That game will take place in Miami for the Orange Bowl.

Kickoff for both games will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit will have the call for Friday's Cotton Bowl.
