Meet The Wife Of Kirk Herbstreit (1:13)

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit dropped a swear word on "College GameDay" prior to kickoff at the Orange Bowl on Thursday evening.

Notre Dame and Penn State are scheduled to kick off at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida on Thursday evening. ESPN's "College GameDay," featuring Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, Nick Saban, Pat McAfee and Herbstreit, are on set for the show. Herbstreit sounded off on the narrative surrounding the Ohio State Buckeyes team. Ohio State is set to play Texas in the Cotton Bowl on Friday evening.

Herbstreit shot down the narrative that Ohio State "bought" its entire roster. He noted that on defense, outside of Alabama transfer Caleb Downs, it's a veteran group that has been in Columbus together for two to three-plus years.

On offense, the Buckeyes landed a couple of transfers, including quarterback Will Howard, but it's a mostly developed unit there, too.

While discussing Ohio State, Herbstreit swore.

ESPN.

"The perception is wrong with Ohio State... It's a hardened team that's been through a lot of (expletive)," he said.

College football fans are loving the rawness from ESPN's college football analyst.

"Kirk Herbstreit, discussing Ohio State. Between Saban, and the others on Gameday, they're leaning into the language ✅," one fan wrote.

"#Buckeyes and TTUN on set got a bit feisty. Love it. Go get it Buckeye Nation!" one fan added.

"I give Herbstreit plenty of (expletive), but I give him props for finally sticking up for Ohio State just now on the pregame show! About time!" one fan added.

"I didn't know I needed to hear Herbstreit say (expletive) live on air until I just did," one fan added.

"I ain't never seen him talk like that. I know they let the cuss words fly on McAfee's show. Is that some universal (expletive) that everyone can do at ESPN now?" one fan added.
