Meet The Daughter Of The Chiefs' Owner (1:30)

The Kansas City Chiefs have taken a hit to their front office before this Saturday's playoff game against the Houston Texans.

According to multiple reports, the Tennessee Titans have hired Mike Borgonzi as their general manager. He'll replace Ran Carthon, who was fired after spending just two seasons in Nashville. This decision comes just days after the Titans had an in-person interview with Borgonzi.

Borgonzi has been with the Chiefs since 2009. He started off as their administrator of college scouting before working his way up to assistant general manager. With Chiefs general manager Brett Veach going nowhere anytime soon, the time was right for Borgonzi to make the leap.

Here's a bit more about Borgonzi's background:

Prior to his current role, Borgonzi spent one year as Director of Football Operations. Before then, he took on the entirety of the Director of Player Personnel position in 2017 after serving alongside current Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach as Co-Director of Player Personnel for two years (2015-16).

Borgonzi served as the club's Assistant Director of Pro Scouting (2013-14) and as the club's Pro Personnel Scout (2011-12) where he evaluated all professional players, recommended free agents, oversaw free agent workouts, evaluated college players and assisted the coaching staff with advance scouting reports for the teams' upcoming opponents.

Borgonzi has certainly played a role in Kansas City's roster being loaded with talent, make no mistake about it.

When the Titans fired Carthon, ownership talked about how the team's record over the past two seasons has been abysmal.

"It's impossible to ignore that our football team hasn't improved over the past two years," Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk said. "I am deeply disappointed in our poor win-loss record during this period, of course, but my decision also speaks to my concern about our long-term future should we stay the course."

It'll be up to Borgonzi to stockpile young talent for the Titans. If he does that, he'll have a long career in Tennessee.
