Carmelo Anthony is super excited after his son committed to Syracuse.

Kiyan Anthony, the son of Carmelo, committed to Syracuse on Friday. He's following in his father's footsteps after playing at Syracuse before going to the NBA.

Following Kiyan's announcement, Carmelo had a four-word message to him in an Instagram post.

"It's your time now," the caption read.

Kiyan is one of the top recruits in the 2025 recruiting class. He's the top recruit in his home state (New York) and the sixth-best shooting guard recruit in the nation, per 247Sports composite rankings. He's also the No. 32 overall recruit in the country, regardless of position.

He announced his commitment on his father's "7PM in Brooklyn" show and picked Syracuse over USC and Auburn. He told ESPN that his relationship with the staff at Syracuse was a big reason why he committed to the school.

"Ultimately, it came down to my relationship with the staff," Anthony said, via ESPN's Jeff Borzello and Paul Biancardi. "From day one, when they started recruiting me, they made me feel like it was family. My dad's name on the facility is special, but I want to go in there and create my own name, and I've already done that through my dedication in the offseason, with early-morning practices, playing at camps, playing on the circuit."

Syracuse is looking to make the NCAA Tournament this year after coming close last year. The Orange finished with a 20-12 record in Adrian Autry first season as head coach but missed the tournament.

Autry is in his second year as the Orange head coach after taking over for Jim Boeheim.

The Orange haven't made the NCAA Tournament since the 2020-21 season when they lost in the Sweet 16.
