WWE Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Ladder Match & More Set For Next Week's SmackDown

Next week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown will emanate out of the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on October 4, 2024.
Headlining the show will be a Triple Threat Ladder Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship as The Bloodline defends against both #DIY and The Street Profits.
This comes about following these teams feuding over the past two months or so, with Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa (technically, Jacob Fatu, before he relinquished his title to Tonga Loa) dethroning Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa on the August 2nd edition of SmackDown. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford have been at odds with The Bloodline since May, coming up short in a title match against them on August 23rd

That won’t be the only gimmick match, as next week will also feature the previously advertised Dumpster Match between Chelsea Green and Michin.
Green challenged Michin to this match last week, and in the meantime, Piper Niven attacked Michin on the SmackDown Lowdown with a trash can to set up a singles match for tonight’s episode, wherein Michin was victorious.

It was also announced that AJ Styles will be returning on next week’s episode, after having not been seen on television since losing to Cody Rhodes at WWE Clash at the Castle on June 15, 2024. What The Phenomenal One will be up to has yet to be revealed, so while he might be in some form of in-ring competition, it could very well just be a promo segment.

Finally, following her loss to Bayley in their No. 1 contender’s match, Naomi will look to regain some momentum as she most likely faces Tiffany Stratton. That match has not yet been made official, but in a backstage segment where Stratton was talking trash and rubbing it in Naomi’s face that she lost, Naomi said she would talk to SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis about getting that match booked for next week.
This brings the lineup for next week’s episode of WWE SmackDown to the following:
