AEW’s Ricky Starks has spoken highly of Sting, who retired from action earlier this year at the AEW Revolution 2024 pay-per-view event.

Before hanging up his boots for good, Sting teamed with Darby Allin and defeated Starks and Big Bill to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

On a recent edition of the “Insight” podcast, Starks recalled working with the WWE Hall of Famer who was a class act in AEW. He said,

“I didn’t grow up as a Sting fan, I didn’t grow up watching WCW, I was an Undertaker fan. I’ll never forget Sting coming in and meeting him — he was so nice and so sweet — and he’s very collected.

“Sting will forever hold a place in my heart. He, out of anybody, you could go to and talk to and he was understanding.”

While Sting is retired, he has signed with AEW on what’s akin to a WWE Legends deal and made an appearance at All In: London 2024.

Starks has yet to appear for AEW since March and was pulled from GCW events by AEW after an alleged comment by Effy about Tony Khan’s father.
