During a recent appearance on “The Takedown” podcast, QT Marshall discussed his relationship with Cody Rhodes, his role in AEW, and other topics.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
QT Marshall on telling Tony Khan he wouldn't leave AEW to work in a WWE office: "I remember telling Tony a long time ago when Cody first went to WWE. I'm never going to leave AEW to go work in the office at WWE. … It's not just me anymore, it's my wife, it's my dog, it's – you know – my brother just moved to Georgia, so the school – there's so many different things going on, I can't just pack up."
On considering WWE and his relationship with Cody Rhodes: "That's the dream, right? Like, when I was growing up, I only knew WWF. I don't know if it's affected my relationship with Cody, but we're still pretty close."
On being comfortable working in AEW: "I think deep down I just was looking for a reason to not go through with having more conversations. I'm very comfortable at AEW, I'm comfortable with Tony, I love the people there."
On telling Cody Rhodes he was returning to AEW: "I remember talking to him about my frustrations with AEW at the time, and he literally told me like 'Well, if you're gonna quit your job just to come here? Like don't do that, that's not a good decision.’"
During a recent appearance on the “Talk Is Jericho” podcast, Big Bill discussed discovering that he and Enzo Amore were being called up to the main WWE roster from NXT.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On partnering with Enzo Amore in WWE developmental: "We moved to Orlando and we finally got a break on TV, on NXT. We were nobodies, and Enzo got squashed by Mason Ryan, but Dusty [Rhodes] said, 'Give him a promo. That's all I'm asking,' in the production meeting. And they gave him a promo. [John] Cena happened to be there."
On how their "SAWFT" catchphrase hit it big: "We went out there and the 'SAWFT' thing hit big. People loved it and from that moment forward, that NXT crowd in Orlando loved us. All it took was Cena doing that one promo."
On learning they were being called up to the main roster: "WrestleMania [32] was coming around in Dallas, and we're pressing — we're like, 'Man, we've been on so many loops. Are we gonna get called up?' Finally, Hunter pulled me and Enzo into a room after the NXT pay-per-view and said, 'You're getting called up Monday.’"
