On a recent edition of the “Battleground” podcast, All Elite Wrestling’s Jeff Jarrett recalled how his final in-ring contract came together. He said,

“Jay [Lethal] was like ‘Hey man, we appreciate everything that —’ that’s kind of, we call it the group. Satnam Singh, Jay Lethal, Sonjat [Dutt], my wife [Karen Jarrett]. ‘We appreciate everything you’ve done for us, but man if this is your last contract’ … because I’d kind of made up my mind that this is going to be my last contract. ‘If this is your last contract, swing for the fences.’ I kept hearing that said multiple different ways, but look, go for it all.”

Jarrett shared recently that his new contract will be his last as an in-ring competitor and is believed to be for one year.

On AEW TV, Jarrett has been feuding with MJF, who mocked the veteran competitor during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

In their promo battle, MJF insinuated that Jarrett was exploiting his friendship with Owen Hart to get a monumental farewell run.
