Do You Like WWE SmackDown's New Theme & Logo? | Question Of The Day

Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!
WWE Friday Night SmackDown’s got a new coat of paint with its season premiere, debuting a new logo for the brand along with a new theme song and intro.
We’re going to be seeing this for many years—likely until their deal with USA is up, albeit with minor tweaks to the Superstars in the intro—so fans should either strap themselves in to love it, tolerate it, or turn their stomachs.

As far as my answer…
For the most part, I’m cool with them and like them just fine. But I’ll admit that I’m not exactly stunned at how amazing they are.
The theme has a good rhythm to it that isn’t obnoxious. I’m sure my brain will either drown it out as background noise eventually, or I’ll grow to actually enjoy the song and download it myself, which tends to happen for I’d say about 80% of the WWE and AEW programming themes.
The visuals for the intro are a bit generic, but blue is my favorite primary color, so graphics with that hue are already more pleasing to my eyes. I dig generic electricity and spotlight stuff, too. If they showed the wrestlers posing on a mountain top or something odd, that’d throw me off, for sure, but these are rock solid. Thumbs up.
And overall, I like the new logo. I tend to go with sharper designs on all my logos, so that works for me. My only gripe with it is that the S/D distinction doesn’t really read too well to me at a quick glance, so I actually read that font styling as “SmackSown” or “Smackown”. If that’s just me, then I’m the oddball and it’s a fantastic design through and through.
If I were to pick my ultimate SmackDown intro from all the different songs and graphics styles, I wouldn’t have this combination or pick any of them individually. Others were more impressive. I liked the original Fox graphics from its debut, the logo we just got replaced, and for the song, one of “Hangman” by Rev Theory, “Rise Up” by Drowning Pool and Jim Johnston, Divide The Day’s “Let It Roll”, “Black and Blue” from CFO$, or just keep “Are You Ready?” as is.
Actually, wow, typing this out has made me realize how much I liked the intro we already had, so maybe I do think of this as an overall downgrade, but I’m more than fine with it, and it will probably grow on me more and more.
