Bloody Jon Moxley Retains AEW Title, Updated Lineups For Collision & Next Week's Dynamite & More

Jon Moxley is still your AEW World Champion after retaining his title over Powerhouse Hobbs in the main event of AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage.
Hobbs had earned the title opportunity by winning the Men’s Casino Gauntlet match last week and put up a valiant effort, to the point that he even bit the champion’s ear, causing Moxley to bleed abundantly during the rest of the match for quite the visual spectacle.
Mox was able to retain by hitting Hobbs with a Paradigm Shift and following it up with a bulldog choke, which ultimately caused Hobbs to pass out.
After the match, The Death Riders continued to attack Hobbs, putting his surgically repaired leg in a steel chair to Pillmanize him. Rated FTR (Cope, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) then came out to run off Death Riders, but the commentary team was sure to mention the damage had already been done.
As this was the end of the episode, it’s unclear whether Hobbs will be competing as scheduled in the big 12-man tag team bout previously announced for the Collision half of Maximum Carnage taping tomorrow night and airing this Saturday.
AEW World Champion Jon Moxley should know EXACTLY how dangerous Powerhouse Hobbs is!

It was also announced that Kazuchika Okada will defend the AEW Continental Championship against Tomohiro Ishii tomorrow night in Cincinnati, Ohio during the tapings.
That lineup now consists of the following matches for AEW Collision Maximum Carnage:
- 12-Man Tag Team Match: Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, & Wheeler Yuta) and The Learning Tree (Chris Jericho, Big Bill, & Bryan Keith) vs. Rated FTR (Cope, Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler), The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Turth Magnum) and Powerhouse Hobbs
- Texas Death Match: “Hangman” Adam Page vs. Christopher Daniels
- Singles Match for the AEW Continental Championship: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Tomohiro Ishii
As far as next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, one match was announced as Cope will be in action yet again opposite Death Riders as he faces PAC in a singles match. So far, Cope vs. PAC is the only match announced for next Wednesday night.
Strangely, AEW decided to announce a match between Swerve Strickland and Ricochet as well, but instead of putting it on either of those shows, it is not set to go down until three weeks from now on the February 5th edition of AEW Dynamite.
