Backstage Note On Javier Bernal's Injury & NXT Absence

Javier Bernal underwent surgery last week for a foot injury sustained during a tag team match featuring himself, Duke Hudson, Riley Osborne, and Drake Morreaux taped for NXT Level Up on June 4.
Unfortunately, Bernal sustained an injury during a dive to the outside of the ring by Osborne, causing his leg to buckle.
Fightful Select is reporting that Bernal did not return to his feet without the aid of the referee and Morreaux following the conclusion of the match.
There is currently no official information indicating whether Bernal’s injury affected the match’s outcome. However, NXT sources revealed no internal criticism was directed at Osborne for the injury, as those familiar with the situation viewed it as an unfortunate accident.
Bernal debuted on WWE programming in January 2022 and has been a prominent figure on NXT and NXT Level Up.
Feedback from WWE talent who have worked with Bernal emphasized his commitment to his character work and described him as “nothing but professional” in his interactions with others in NXT.
One source from WWE’s developmental brand expressed confidence that Bernal will “pick up where he left off”upon his return.
