Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day—this time, focusing on the women competing in this year’s WWE Money in the Bank ladder match!

This one requires little to no setup. Your question is simple: “Rank the 6 WWE Superstars competing in this year’s women’s ladder match from worst to best.”

By whatever criteria you decide, who are you hoping/thinking are the top picks to win the Money in the Bank briefcase this year for the women’s ladder match? Why does Superstar X rank #6 and Superstar Y rank #1 and so on?

Be sure to drop your comment below to answer the question and keep the ball rolling.

In the meantime, I’ll toss out my rankings:

6. Iyo Sky

I’m confident in saying there’s almost zero chance Iyo Sky will win this, as there wouldn’t be much of a point. She already won last year, cashed in her title shot successfully, and held her title up through WrestleMania XL. It’s not going to happen again, she’s not going to cash in on Liv Morgan and/or Rhea Ripley (when The Nightmare returns), nor hop over to SmackDown.

Iyo’s also frustrated with the state of Damage CTRL. In order to push that storyline further, she needs to fail. Her role in this match is to be a top name who poses a threat, does some moonsaults and such, and comes up short.

Yes, there have been people who have won twice; even back to back. However, Iyo doesn’t strike me as being in a position to do that this time around.

5. Zoey Stark

I’m all for giving the briefcase to someone who can level up and become a top-tier talent by breaking out of the midcard. I just don’t think Zoey Stark has the momentum to be that person in 2024.

Stark is great. She carries herself well in the ring and is consistently improving on the microphone, too, although that’s where she struggles the most. But as much as it seems the WWE Universe is collectively giving her a thumbs up, I don’t see two thumbs up from anyone. Nobody seems to be gaga over her. Ask yourself if you could really see her holding a title on the marquee of WrestleMania 41. I think you have your answer.

4. Lyra Valkyria

Just barely above Zoey Stark for me is Lyra Valkyria, for similar reasons. She’s already had a singles title reign to help prove herself a little more than Stark, but I didn’t think Valkyria was a fantastic NXT women’s champion, to be honest. It’s not like she had an Asuka-like run where I was fine with her winning a title the moment she was drafted to the main roster.

Valkyria has been booked rather well in recent months, and they clearly see something in her. I’d be more interested in her winning the briefcase if Becky Lynch were champion so they could tease a breakdown of that friendship with her cashing in. But to be perfectly honest, even Valkyria at #4 is still in the “I definitely don’t want this to happen” territory.

3. Naomi

Now we’re getting into something good. Naomi would be far from my third pick if I could choose from the overall roster, as I’d have likely thrown in Jade Cargill and some others to compete here and rank them higher than Naomi. However, the big spark of interest in my mind is whether Naomi will ever get involved in The Bloodline story.

So far, she’s been completely out of the mix. But let’s say Nia Jax beats Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship. If Naomi were holding the briefcase, suddenly, The Bloodline should address how both of them are in the family and need to work out a proper balance. Since Naomi is married to Jimmy Uso, who has been excommunicated from the group of heels, this could lead to an interesting dynamic where they try to bully her into being a subordinate to Jax.

Not my favorite storyline, but something that’s far more interesting to me than the other three options I rank lower.

2. Chelsea Green

Every single woman who has won the MITB so far has successfully cashed in their title shot and won that championship. It’s time for someone to fail.

Booking someone in advance to lose their big opportunity can be extremely tricky. You don’t want to give that burden to someone that should be taken seriously, like Baron Corbin was. All that does is nuke their career. But when there’s a comedic heel like Chelsea Green as an option to do this, that’s doable.

The risk is upsetting people who think WWE wasted the briefcase, as well as those who will start to get behind Green as someone they want to successfully cash in. It’s better to have someone hold the briefcase who could actually capture a title. But if there aren’t any solid plans of what to do with this gimmick this year, I’d be down for Green winning, showboating the briefcase around for a few months, trying to cash in and failing.

1. Tiffany Stratton

My one and only real pick here is Tiffany Stratton. If I’m WWE, I’m booking backwards from WrestleMania 41, trying to get Charlotte Flair against Jade Cargill, and seeing what I can do in the meantime.

Here’s my preferred pattern: Stratton wins MITB. Her partnership with Nia Jax continues. Jax fights Bayley at SummerSlam, as per the Queen of the Ring stipulation. Bayley either retains and is laid out by Jax after the match, allowing Stratton to cash in, or Stratton cashes in during the match and steals it from Jax and Bayley. This sets up a Triple Threat for Bash in Berlin, where Stratton retains the title. At Crown Jewel, Stratton retains over either Naomi or Bianca Belair. Either at Survivor Series or Royal Rumble, or an episode of SmackDown in between, Stratton drops the title to a returning Charlotte Flair. Cargill wins the 2025 Royal Rumble and challenges Flair, who continues to feud with Stratton on The Road to WrestleMania.

Again, don’t forget to keep the discussion rolling by answering this yourself in the comments below and stay tuned tomorrow for another EWN QOTD!
