Backstage Details On WWE ID Program, New Trainee Announced

A new report provides more information about WWE’s new ID program.
WWE revealed the ID program last week as a "developmental program designed to provide up-and-coming independent wrestlers a pathway to a potential career in WWE."
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has shared more details regarding the program and WWE’s intended usage.
According to the report, WWE aims to recruit independent talent from schools or other sources they believe show potential as early as possible.
Historically, WWE would invite talents for tryouts, leading to decisions about offering them contracts to join the Performance Center or postponing their consideration.
The new ID program will allow talents deemed promising to be signed under agreements reminiscent of WWE’s NIL program for collegiate athletes.
Talent under the program will receive a small stipend, with opportunities for advancement thereafter. For independent talents, the concept is that they will continue their training at WWE ID-associated schools and perform on independent circuits, contrary to the past practice where WWE discouraged contracted wrestlers from participating in independent events unless they were WWE-sanctioned.
This structure grants WWE the first opportunity to recruit talents if they receive proposals from rival promotions like AEW, TNA, or NJPW.
Should WWE express interest, they can offer full-time contracts and bring these talents to the Performance Center in Florida. If talents enlisted in the program are not training at associated schools, WWE will advise them to do so.
As we previously reported here on eWn, WWE announced the first talents selected for the ID program: Zayda Steel, Bryce Donovan, and Capuccino Jones.
Today, WWE announced another talent, Jack Summit (Jack Cartwheel), who was scouted from GCW and debuted in 2019.
