How’s this for an “overreaction”: 2025 will be yet another year without Conor McGregor fighting in the UFC.

We’re coming up on three-and-a-half years since McGregor last competed inside the octagon, when he broke his leg and lost by injury TKO in a trilogy with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The former UFC two-division champion’s career has been a wild and controversial ride, with no action inside the cage since. McGregor had been set to headline UFC 303 against Michael Chandler this past June, but a broken pinky toe suffered in training forced him to withdraw one month out.

Events in McGregor’s personal life came to a head in November as he found himself embroiled in a civil trial in which a woman, Nikita Hand, alleged that McGregor raped her in a Dublin hotel room in late 2018. After nearly two weeks of arguments in an Irish high court, a jury found McGregor liable for assault and forced him to pay Hand damages. As a result of the outcome, McGregor was dropped as a pitchman by several companies, including Proper No. Twelve whiskey.

Given the delay and everything McGregor’s dealt with outside the cage, is it possible his UFC career is revived in 2025? MMA Junkie’s Simon Samano and Mike Bohn discussed on the latest edition of “Overreaction Time.”
