Conor McGregor fighting under the BKFC banner seems like a real possibility with the Irishman continuing to hint at the prospect.
It has now been almost four years since Conor McGregor stepped into the UFC Octagon, with his last fight ending in a devastating defeat to Dustin Poirier.
During that time, McGregor became co-owner of rival UFC promotion, BKFC, seemingly pushing the promotion into the number two spot.
With the Irishman having taken up a big role within the company, attending events and hosting press conferences, he has continuously hinted at potentially fighting for BKFC.
As well as that, McGregor also recently announced that he will run for presidency in Ireland, which came as a huge shock to the combat sports world.

Joe Rogan on Conor McGregor’s potential fight in BKFC
Although the potential of McGregor fighting in BKFC seemed unlikely considering his ties to the UFC, the prospect of it happening has become more and more likely.
And that gained even more traction recently when Jeremy Stephens knocked out Eddie Alvarez at Knuckle Mania, facing off with McGregor following the fight.
Despite having never fought in the UFC Octagon, McGregor and Stephens have a beef that goes back years, after the former UFC double champion cut one of his most iconic lines when asking ‘Who the f— is that guy’ when Stephens attempted to get his attention at a UFC press conference.
UFC icon and commentator, Joe Rogan, commented on the potential of ‘The Notorious’ fighting in BKFC. During a recent Fight Companion livestream on his YouTube channel, Rogan’s guest, Brendan Schaub suggested a fight between McGregor and UFC star, Ilia Topuria.
“That’s crazy, Conor would have to be in the testing pool for a long time, he’s not in the testing pool,” Rogan reacted.
According to the UFC anti-doping database, McGregor has yet to register a test session so far this year, making his comeback to the UFC extremely unlikely.
“Well, he’s running bare-knuckle, he’s one of the owners, he may (fight for them) but you’ve gotta get him off the f—— marching powder,” Rogan joked.
“He might (fight for them), I mean, I can see him doing it. They’d have to pay him (loads). Oh my goodness (him against Jeremy Stephens would be amazing), Jeremy would have to win a couple more times,” Rogan continued.
Conor McGregor’s UFC comeback becomes increasingly unlikely
With all of the different things going on in McGregor’s life, his comeback to the UFC seems like a complete longshot.
The 36-year-old is seemingly more interested in the political landscape of his country along with a potential fight in BKFC, having guaranteed that it will happen.
And with that, it seems even his own fans have come to terms with the likelihood of him fighting in the UFC again being unlikely, as they booed him at a recent event in Dublin.
