Conor McGregor appears to have gone back on his decision to ‘fire’ Mike Perry as he actually backed his latest callout.

After Perry was stopped by Jake Paul back in July, his woes were further compounded by McGregor taking to social media to declare that he was ‘fired’ from BKFC. The Irishman had just bought into the company and is a part owner, although his ability to make such big moves was always questioned.

Perry wasn’t too sure about the move, and it now seems that he may be on his way back to the squared circle sooner than it would have seemed. He was in attendance at last night’s show in Hollywood, Florida, and appeared to get McGregor’s support in his callout.

Conor McGregor ‘fired’ Mike Perry after Jake Paul loss

After defeating Thiago Alves at KnuckleMania in April, Mike Perry had emerged as a top candidate for one of the year’s breakout stars. He was quickly rising up to become a fan favorite in BKFC, beating up world champions and making massive money.

But that hype was derailed significantly when he was brutally knocked down multiple times and stopped by Paul in a short-notice fight. He offered to step up for Mike Tyson on the date after the heavyweight legend was forced to pull out, which kept the social media star active.

However, pay-per-view sales were below Paul’s usual and the nature of his defeat left fans scratching their heads as to why he would do it. And even his new ‘boss’ Conor McGregor got into the pile-on, declaring on multiple occasions that he was ‘fired’ from the promotion.

“Hey Mike you’re released,” he wrote to his millions of followers on X, formerly Twitter, in the early hours of the morning. “And you can go and compete in your smelly dirty boxing championship thing, the smell of it, good luck. You're fired.”

He has since reiterated that claim, telling The Schmo last month:”Mike [Perry] is fired, but we’re in negotiations. [Dave] ‘Redneck’ Mundell called him out. He’s been afraid of Mundell. We had to give him a little cherry-pick-made title, ‘The King of Violence’ or whatever you call it.

“But he was never a world champion. And he’s afraid of Dave ‘Redneck’ Mundell. He’s called him out now; let’s see what Perry responds.”

Mike Perry slapped back after being ‘fired’

Perry, however, refused to take McGregor’s jibes lying down. He would regularly insist that he is also a part owner of the promotion which the Irishman disputed, and in a documentary promoting his Dirty Boxing Championship he finally made a lengthy response.

“What’s making me mad is everybody sucking his balls,” Perry said after insisting that a fight between the pair would be ‘good for everybody’. “Like, he’s already fought for them. Hi, did y’all forget that I’m the reason y’all got pumped up right now?

“I fought five times for y’all and y’all ain’t showing me no love. The fighter in Utah who won, flicking me off in the ring. Okay, that’s the most viral thing you can do but b**** you lucky I didn’t get in that ring right now, I should have.

“But like, for what? Then Dave Mundell posted shaking Conor’s hand like, you sucking it bro. That’s why I knocked you out twice you bum, yeah, you heard me.”

Now, Mike Perry has Conor McGregor’s blessing to call out Robbie Lawler

And it’s beginning to appear that McGregor is willing to take Perry back, as he showed his support for his rival during yesterday’s event in Florida. Perry was in attendance live, while the Irishman watched from Dubai.

At one stage, Perry was interviewed on the broadcast and called out former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler. “Who should face me next?” He asked. “I see Robbie Lawler in the crowd and I think he should take the gloves off and step inside the squared circle against Platinum Mike Perry.”

The former world champion was once matched with Perry during their UFC days, but an injury prevented him from fighting. Ironically, that bout seemed cursed as when Perry did get a replacement opponent, ‘Platinum’ ended up showing up overweight meaning neither he or Lawler were ready for fight night.

And McGregor seemed well up for the idea, writing to fans on social media as if the firing drama had never happened: “What a show! Perry vs Lawler? Gimme.”
