Jake Paul is planning for a "big announcement" in January, which somehow relates to the boxing industry. The most likely scenario is the reveal of "El Gallo's" next fight, expected to take place against a professional pugilist (like this champ) — assuming this influencer retirement post is accurate.

Not surprisingly, cynical combat sports fans buried the 27 year-old YouTuber on social media with a never-ending stream of memes depicting Paul at war with aging celebrities, including (but not limited to) Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman and former United States President Jimmy Carter.

Paul is just a couple of weeks removed from his tepid decision victory over 58 year-old Mike Tyson, a Netflix event that was panned for its entertainment value, as well as its streaming reliability. The stunt returned beaucoup bucks for both combatants, though "Iron" Mike may have to fork some of that dough over to these disgruntled folks.

January is less than two weeks away ... stay tuned.
