Sean Strickland may be next in line for a shot at the UFC middleweight title, but the former champion is not happy about where it could take place.

As of now, Strickland has the inside track to be next up for current champion Dricus du Plessis, who just defended his UFC middleweight title with a submission win over Israel Adesanya at UFC 305 this past August. Unless the upcoming middleweight bout between Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev art UFC 308 produces otherworldly results, Strickland should get the nod next.

Unfortunately, Strickland may have to travel outside of the United States to get his hands on du Plessis. That's because DDP's coach recently told Submission Radio that his next title defense is scheduled sometime for February next year in Sydney, Australia. No opponent was named, but "Stillknocks" will be traveling Down Under in early 2025 for another main event title fight.

Strickland did not like hearing this news that du Plessis will likely defend his title on Australian soil next. That's because Strickland does not have the best track record with foreign government and his outspoken political views. Remember, Strickland lost to DDP via split decision at UFC 297 this past January, which took place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Many fight fans thought he had won the fight, but the judges ruled it in favor of "Stillknocks."

Check out Strickland's response to du Plessis' title fight news below:

"UFC event planning 'I have a great idea, let's send Sean to go fight for a championship in foreign country where the government absolutely hates him.'

UFC are you f—king with me or are you trying to tell me you want me to spread freedom?! I wonder at times...."

What do you think, Maniacs? Did UFC event planners drop the ball booking DDP's next title in Australia?

Let's discuss!
