Alexandre Pantoja was quick to react to the UFC Edmonton main event.

The UFC flyweight champion watched on as his long-time rival Brandon Moreno put on a flawless performance to outpoint Amir Albazi over five rounds in Canada on Saturday night.

Moreno's win moved him one step closer to a fourth fight with Pantoja, who beat him during their Ultimate Fighter experience before repeating the feat twice after they officially became UFC fighters.

The 125lb king sent a five-word message to Moreno after he put himself back in title contention.

Alexandre Pantoja calls Brandon Moreno 'my son'

In the aftermath of the UFC Edmonton main event, Pantoja took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to send a congratulatory message to the ex-champion.

However, it was laced with cheeky dig to let Moreno know who's boss.

"Very good fight my son," Pantoja tweeted alongside an emoji of a man cradling a baby.

Moreno completely ignored Pantoja when he broke his social media silence.

'The Assassin Baby' chose to stay positive after snapping his two-fight losing streak, which started when he fell to a split decision defeat against Pantoja at UFC 290 in July 2023.

Moreno wrote on Instagram: "Every fall I’ve had has made the comeback sweeter. Thank you to all the people who have been with me through the good, the bad and the worst!!

"A little reminder that Brandon Moreno is still alive more than ever, let’s go up gentlemen #vivamexicoperros #edmonton thank you so much for the support, I'll let last night in my heart."

Brandon Moreno wants the flyweight title back

Pantoja will defend his belt against promotional newcomer Kai Asakura at UFC 310 on December 7.

Moreno hopes he's done enough to earn a fight with whoever wins, but he accepts that he may need to get another victory.

"I don't know, man, hopefully," Moreno said at his post-fight press conference when asked if he's done enough to get a title shot.

"I have to be honest with myself, maybe I have to fight one more time before the title, but I don't know what the UFC is thinking right now. Maybe they get so impressed with the performance tonight that they say, 'Maybe he can get the title next.'

"I know [Brandon] Royval is there. I know Kai Kara France is there trying to get their opportunity for the title next. I don't know. I'll be ready for whatever."
