Michael Chandler appears to be in sensational shape ahead of UFC 309.
'Iron' hasn't fought since getting choked out by Dustin Poirier in the third round of their entertaining clash at UFC 281 in November 2022.
Since then, he's been sitting out waiting to fight Conor McGregor, who won't make his eagerly anticipated MMA return until 2025.
The American got tired of waiting for 'Notorious', so he booked a UFC 309 rematch with former lightweight titleholder Charles Oliveira, who knocked him out to become a champion in May 2021.
Michael Chandler is absolutely ripped right now
Michael Chandler has clearly been working hard to make sure that his November 16 comeback fight is a success.
On Sunday, the three-time Bellator lightweight champion shared a video of him posing in a wrestling singlet that showed off his pre-fight physique.
Chandler drank water and bopped his head to music as he posed for the camera after an apparent workout in his home gym.
Veins popped out of his arms and his entire body seemed to be covered in muscle, which fans were quick to point out in the comment section.
One person said: "Holy s***."
Another added: "You look amazing!"
A third fan marveled: "Bro is RIPPED."
Someone else commented: "Dude you're jacked as hell."
Chandler responded to one fan who asked what was motivating him to get in such great shape, he said: "The title and a calling to take what I do seriously – anything worth doing is worth doing correctly. Hold the standard."
Michael Chandler earns high praise from UFC legend
UFC boss Dana White will tell anyone who will listen that Jon Jones is not only the greatest fighter of all time, but he's also the best fighter right now.
Many people disagree and point to lightweight champion Islam Makhachev or light heavyweight king Alex Pereira as most worthy of the pound-for-pound number-one spot.
Chandler is a fan favorite, but almost no one has him on the P4P list. However, former two-weight UFC champion Randy Couture recently dubbed Chandler the 'greatest fighter' of the current era.
In an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, Couture said: "Michael Chandler keeps coming up in my mind. He's been in several different organizations, and he's been a top competitor and in title contention for quite a while now.
"Obviously, there was some hope that him and Conor were gonna scrap. I don't know if that fight is ever gonna happen, but Chandler is certainly a fighter I enjoy watching. I love his gas tank and the energy he brings to the cage every single time he fights."
Chandler will be hoping to prove Couture right by getting revenge on Oliveira and potentially booking another title fight with Makhachev, who is expected to defend his belt against Arman Tsarukyan early next year.
