Jake Paul will meet Mike Tyson in a professional fight, and he intends to treat it as such.

Paul and Tyson are set to meet in a surprising showdown on July 20, which has been sanctioned to take place under professional rules despite their 31-year age gap.

Throughout the build-up, Paul has been forced to hit back at claims that the fight will be ‘rigged’, with his heavyweight legend rival also confirming his intentions to take the bout seriously.

In a new interview, the ‘Problem Child’ was questioned if he would push for a punishing KO blow despite Tyson’s age and he refused to hold back.

He told TMZ Sports: “Absolutely not because if he has the same opportunity you know damn well he is going to finish me in embarrassing fashion.

“So, I have to reciprocate that same energy. But Mike Tyson is a killer. He’s ruthless.

“He’s the most vicious champion ever. So, I have to channel that Mike Tyson energy to finish him. And the legend must fall.”

Paul was asked earlier in the interview if it was the toughest test of his career to date, and he was in no doubt it was.

He added: “Yes absolutely. Just moving up to heavyweight to face Mike Tyson with his power, his experience and his tenacity.

“He will no doubt pull out some veteran tricks that he has learned throughout his career.

“The stage makes it hard fighting in front of all them people on Netflix, I’m going to have to manage the nerves and excitement.

“This is my ultimate test of warfare and that excites me.”

Despite having not fought professionally since losing to Kevin McBride in 2005, the boxing icon Tyson has attempted to prove he is in supreme condition.

He has been posting footage of his training with various threats to Paul, which have shown he possesses his ferocious power in bursts.

But the real concerns will be if he can absorb damage from Paul given he will enter the ring aged 58, and has already encountered various health problems.

A tasty build-up is in store with the event set to be unprecedented despite doubts from the boxing world.

Paul and Tyson have surprisingly trade verbal blows, and the legend even turned his back on the influencer at a press conference.

It would be a sad ending to the former undisputed champion’s career if he is to suffer a dangerous fate to Paul.
