Yankees Social Media: Ringing in the New Year

A Happy New Year from the New York Yankees.
It's Sunday once more, and you know what that means — it's time for our weekly social media roundup! This week, we bid farewell to a year that was pretty good for the Yankees — AL pennants don't grow on trees — and look forward to a new year filled with high hopes and the sky-high expectations that come with it. How did our Yankees celebrate the new year? Let's get started!
Happy New Year!
No, Yankees manager Aaron Boone did not begin 2025 by criticizing people's grammar, but that doesn't mean we don't have a small army of Happy New Year posts to lead off this week's roundup.
Yankees captain Aaron Judge posted a photo collage looking back at the 2024 season, which included multiple pictures of him and his now-expecting wife. We also see him visiting the Lincoln Memorial with Giancarlo Stanton (a rare candid photo of the two), hanging out with Anthony Rizzo and Luke Voit (not at the same time, which could have been a little awkward), a group of players out on a bike ride, and of course, multiple photos of his dogs. Unfortunately, due to privacy settings on Judge's account, we can't actually embed the Instagram post, but we can link it here.
Yankees southpaw Carlos Rodón posted a video lookback on his Instagram story — obviously, since it was a video, a screenshot doesn't do it justice, but here is one anyway.
Fellow starter Clarke Schmidt also posted an end-of-year photo dump. Just as interesting as the photos themselves, in my opinion, are the comments — we've got Anthony Volpe ragging on him for posting a picture cooking a steak, while both Aaron Judge and old friend Harrison Bader say hello.
Ben Rice, the rookie catcher/first baseman who stole the hearts of New Yorkers before hitting a post-All-Star Game slump, also dropped a bunch of pictures from this season. My personal favorite is his picture with Austin Wells and Trey Sweeney; all three players climbed the Yankees farm system together before Sweeney was traded to the Dodgers last winter.
Current players were not the only ones to reflect on the year. Former Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez and current radio broadcaster Suzyn Waldman took to Instagram to celebrate the new year.
