The Yankees are going to the ALCS! In the meantime, there's only one game on tonight, but it's a biggie: the Padres/Dodgers Game 5 grudge match in LA.

Good morning. The Yankees are going back to the American League Championship Series! They knocked off the Royals last night, 3-1, to lock in a four-game ALDS victory. Hell yeah. The reward is a few days of rest as the Yanks await the winner of the Tigers/Guardians series, which will conclude tomorrow.

Today on the site, Sam will recap went on in the other ALDS Game 4 up in Detroit, David will name his Player of the Game for ALDS Game 4, Estevão will zero in on how the Yankees followed a familiar ALDS trend in a special Game 4 reaction piece, and Nick Sarnelli will crown his pick for ALDS MVP. Later on, John will go back in time for the Yankees Diary to preview the 1999 ALCS, which was the first time that the Yankees and Red Sox had met in postseason play, and Smith will name his Minor League Player of the Year. Also keep an eye out for Madison answering your mailbag questions.

As noted, the other ALDS Game 5 won't be until tomorrow, but we do have NLDS Game 5 tonight! Like the crosstown rival Yankees, the Mets are waiting to see who they'll play in the NLCS, which starts on Sunday. This evening, it's Padres vs. Dodgers tonight at the ol' Chavez Ravine.

NLDS Game 5 Schedule:

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres
(Series tied, 2-2)

(RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto vs. RHP Yu Darvish)
Time: 8:08 p.m. ET
TV: Fox
Venue: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, CA

Questions/Prompts:

1. The Yankees haven't officially announce Carlos Rodón as the ALCS Game 1 starter. Would you still go with him or would you bump up Clarke Schmidt/Luis Gil? (Cole's normal rest would put him in Game 2.)

2. Who ya got in Dodgers vs. Dads?
