BKFC is set to continue its expansion with a new venture that is certainly going to turn some heads.
Ever since becoming a part-owner in the promotion last year, Conor McGregor has been singing the praises of BKFC and what they have built.
With plans to fight in BKFC at some point, McGregor has become the focal point for the promotion as they continue to increase their roster, schedule and reach.
The latest move from the bare knuckle league will see them branch into a new style of combat after becoming stake holders in a combat sport that was was founded by a BKFC executive.
With McGregor achieving incredible business success when working alongside Dana White, some are giving ‘The Notorious’ the props for this added string to his investment’s bow.

Fans react to the newly formed BKFC Ice Wars, combining combat sports and ice hockey
Headed by Charlie Nama, BKFC Ice Wars is set to host their first event on June 14 at the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Michigan where combat sports and ice hockey will be combined.
12 Bouts will take place inside ‘The Ice Box’, a 900-square foot arena that has been specifically designed for fighting on the ice.
BKFC Ice Wars was best defined in the announcement as hockey fights without the hockey though the competitors will wear four-ounce MMA gloves along with their regular equipment.
Fights will consist of 3 or 5 rounds that will only be 90 seconds in length before a minute break between the action.
The partnership between BKFC and Ice Wars is hoping to produce at least six events throughout 2025 with a second card already booked to take place on June 28 at River Cree Casino and Resort in Enoch, Alberta, Canada and a vastly increased schedule for 2026.
Nama described the move as “the fusion of two high-energy, no-holds-barred fight disciplines into one powerhouse league. Our first event is just the beginning, and we're building something that will redefine international prizefighting competition and entertainment.”
Fans reacted to BKFC Ice Wars on social media with many making reference to Conor McGregor and the role that he plays in the promotion.
“Thank GOD Conor never fought Michael Chandler,” one fan remarked whilst another also gave props to the Irishman. “100% Conors idea.”
The overall reception to the announcement appeared to be mixed with some loving this car crash idea whilst others questioned several elements of the event.

Conor McGregor could take BKFC to new heights
Whilst BKFC has been steadily building for some time, there is one thing that would put it into a whole new level of recognition.
If Conor McGregor is ever able to step inside the ring it would be the biggest thing that the promotion could possibly do in terms of growing their profile.
He’s already had an ideal opponent call him out with Jeremy Stephens wanting to face McGregor once he returns from his one-fight deal with the UFC.
Regardless of everything else that BKFC has going on, putting this fight together would blow everything else out of the water if they were able to pull it off.
