The Dallas Mavericks assigned Anthony Davis and Jaden Hardy to the G League Texas Legends to practice and play in 5-on-5 scrimmages as both players recover from injuries.

Davis has been out since February 8 due to a strained left adductor.

Sources told Tim MacMahon of ESPN that there were discussions of shutting Davis down for the season, though Davis was determined to return this year.

Hardy has missed the last seven games with a sprained ankle.

The Mavs were down to eight players over the weekend. Two-way players Kessler Edwards and Brandon Williams are approaching their season limit for NBA games.
