Dodgers Free Agent Reliever Signs With Angels for 2025 Season

Former Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed relief pitcher Connor Brogdon has signed a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Angels.
Brogdon, who will turn 30 on Jan. 29, has been in and out of the Major Leagues for five seasons.
The Philadelphia Phillies drafted the Lewis-Clark State product in the 10th round of the 2017 MLB Draft. He made his MLB debut in August 2020, where he went on to make nine appearances with the Phillies. He made two starts in his career with the Phillies in 2021 and 2023.

The Phillies ultimately traded Brogdon to the Dodgers in April for left-handed pitcher Benony Robles. However, he only made one appearance with Los Angeles before spending the rest of the season on the injured list or in the minor leagues.
In his single outing with the Dodgers, Brogdon allowed two home runs in one inning against the Minnesota Twins. But, Brogdon fielded a ground ball to earn the final out of the ninth inning and secure the Dodgers' 6-3 victory.

Four days after his debut with Los Angeles, the Dodgers placed Brogdon on the 15-day IL with right plantar fasciitis. The organization eventually placed him on the 60-day IL in May.
Brogdon made one rehab appearance with the Single-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and then 13 appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma City.
However, Brogdon was never able to return to the Dodgers’ active roster. Los Angeles chose to outright him this offseason, resulting in Brogdon electing free agency.
The Angels assigned the Clovis, California native and assigned him to the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees. He will have a chance to work his way back up to the Major Leagues in 2025.
