Week 18 of the 2024 NFL regular season is in the books and it's time to look ahead to the playoffs. Wild Card Weekend starts on Saturday afternoon.

Before that, though, we have some coaching decisions to take care of. Two NFL head coaches have now been fired since the conclusion of Week 18.

Sunday afternoon, the New England Patriots decided to fire head coach Jerod Mayo. The Patriots fired the first-year head coach after a Week 18 victory over the Buffalo Bills.

"I am grateful for Jerod's many contributions to the New England Patriots throughout his career and will always be rooting for his success. I appreciate all his hard work and hope the experiences gained will help him in the future, as I still believe he will be a successful head coach in this league. I wish Jerod and his family nothing but success in the future," Patriots owner Robert Kraft announced.

Mayo isn't the only head coach who is out on Monday, though.

A second NFL head coach has been fired on Monday morning. The Jacksonville Jaguars have fired head coach Doug Pederson following a disappointing 2024 season.

"Jacksonville Jaguars fired Doug Pederson as their head coach, per source. Pederson's tenure in Jacksonville ends after three season and a 22-29 record, including 18 losses in the last 23 games," ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported.

Will that be it for the NFL head coaching firings following the conclusion of Week 18?

It sounds like Brian Daboll will be back in New York and Shane Steichen will be back in Indianapolis, too.

We'll have to wait and see if any other NFL head coaches are fired heading into the offseason. Who do you think is deserving of getting the axe right now?
