Some people may not think that kickers are real football players, but they certainly had a major impact around the NFL in Week 2.

In fact, it was a record-setting impact, to be more accurate. There were a total of 73 made field goals in the NFL's 16 games over the weekend, an all-time record for a single week, breaking the previous mark of 69, set in Week 15 of the 2016 season.

Overall, kickers have been quite busy through two weeks, as there were 68 made field goals in Week 1, the third-highest weekly total in league history. Week 1 of the 2012 season (67 field goals) and Week 3 last year (65) round out the top five.

No team was more reliant on the field goal in Week 2 than the Washington Commanders, who eked out a 21-18 win over the New York Giants on the strength of seven three-point kicks from the newly-signed Austin Seibert.

"I'm still learning," Commanders rookie Jayden Daniels said about Seibert following the game. "He's still new to this team. But he's a good kicker."

CBS Sports' John Breech has an interesting deep dive into all the kicking proficiency around the league, which includes an insane 89.7% accuracy rate from beyond 50 yards.

Week 3 of the NFL season kicks off in two days with the Patriots and Jets in New Jersey.

Chances are, we're going to see some more kicking feats to come over the weekend.
