The Lions Have Chance To Make Impressive NFL Regular Season History

The Detroit Lions are the best team in the NFC and look like the best team in the entire NFL right now with the way they've annihilated their last few opponents. They've been so dominant that they have a chance to make some very cool NFL history this coming week.
With their 52-6 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, the Lions beat a team by at least 38 points for the third time this season. As noted by ProFootballTalk and others, if they can beat a team by that same margin just one more time this year, they will become the first team in league history to beat four opponents by 38 or more points.
Detroit's other two 38-point blowouts include a 47-9 win over Dallas at AT&T STadium and a 52-14 win over the Tennessee Titans at Ford Field.
The Lions certainly won't be lacking for opportunities but it may be a lot easier said than done. Their seven remaining games are against the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears (twice), Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings. Most of those teams have a defense that ranks in the top half of the NFL, so even scoring 38 points against those teams could be a big ask of the Lions.

The Lions may have the best record in the NFL, but their NFC North rivals the Vikings (8-2) and Packers (7-3)are still well within striking distance of both the top record and the division title.
This could wind up being one of the closest division title races that we've seen in quite some time.
Will Detroit's dominance carry them all the way to the NFC North title, or will the Vikings and Packers run them down at some point?
