Stephen A. Smith Calls Out United States Government Over Drone Sightings

Stephen A. Smith has his eye on the drones that have caused a stir in the New York/New Jersey area in recent weeks.
Since November, there have been numerous drone sightings in New Jersey, prompting an outcry from citizens wanting an explanation. Thus far, there has been none, though New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy urged residents to "calm down" and said there's "no evidence of anything nefarious here."
That doesn't sound like a good enough response for Stephen A., who mentioned the drones on First Take Monday. While discussing the Baltimore Ravens' blowout victory over the New York Giants, Shannon Sharpe mentioned that maybe Giants fans "might need to fly some more planes" over there, a reference to the banners flying above MetLife Stadium in recent weeks.
That's when Stephen A. jumped in and demanded the United States government provide more information on the drones.
"Let me tell you something, these damn drones in New York City," Smith said. "The United States government, get it together. Get it together! There's drones flying over people's houses in Jersey and New York. I saw Independence Day, dammit! I ain't underestimating none of that stuff. Figure it out! Figure it out."
We're not sure if Stephen A.'s words carry any weight in the halls of government, but we don't blame him for being angry at the lack of transparency.
Last week, former New York Jets offensive lineman Nick Mangold accused officials of lying about the aircraft.
"So far (New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy) has done nothing about the drones. Just a bunch of empty phrases," Mangold said.
"After seeing these with my own eyes and getting lied to straight to our faces, makes you wonder what else they lie about with such ease. How are we just letting this happen?!?"
There have also reportedly been drone sightings in New York, Maryland, Delaware and Florida, according to NBC News.
