Meet Deion Sanders' Future R&B Singer Son-In-Law (1:28)

Unless the Colorado Buffaloes clinch a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game with a win over  the Oklahoma State Cowboys this weekend, Colorado's last football game of 2024 will likely be whatever bowl game bid they accept. If that is the case, will superstars Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter stick around and play it?

It's become a very common practice for players who don't reach the College Football Playoff to forego their team's bowl bid and prepare for the NFL Draft instead. Given how bowl games have become devalued amid the expansion of the CFP, it's a trend that's only become more popular over the past decade.

But it's not a trend that either Sanders or Hunter appear intent on following.

Speaking to the media this week, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders made it very clear that Hunter and his son will be playing in whatever bowl game the team gets.

"No, we got a bowl game. It's not the last time you're gonna see them in a Buff uniform," Coach Prime said.

At 8-3 on the season and 6-2 in the Big 12, Colorado need to beat the Cowboys and likely need some help in order to get into the Big 12 Championship Game, let alone the College Football Playoff. But they've gotten this far because of the extraordinary play of Shedeur Sanders and Hunter, with the latter ranking among the Heisman Trophy favorites after the amazing year he's had on both offense and defense.

If both of them were to skip a bowl game to prep for the NFL Draft, they would quickly become a hard team to favor in any game. More importantly, they may not have the same level of explosiveness on any side of the ball.

That said, if Colorado can find a way into the Big 12 Championship Game and win the conference title, they'll be fighting for a national title.
