Two Detroit Lions offensive stars are trending closer to playing this Thursday.

David Montgomery and Amon-Ra St. Brown both began the shortened week on Detroit's injury report. While the Lions only held a walkthrough Monday, they estimated that the running back and wide receiver would have sat out practice with a shoulder and knee injury, respectively.

Both took a positive step toward facing the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving. Detroit estimated Montgomery and Brown as limited participants on Tuesday's injury report.

On Tuesday, Dan Campbell said he feels "pretty good" about St. Brown and Montgomery playing. Although the running back left Sunday's win over the Indianapolis Colts early, the head coach doesn't think he could keep Montgomery off the field against his former team if he tried.

"Oh, heck no. Are you kidding me? No," Campbell told reporters. "And look, David, last week, he wanted to get back into that game. He was good, and I held him back just to be on the safe side. And he was not happy."

Before exiting the Week 12 game, Montgomery scored his 11th rushing touchdown of the season and 26th in 28 games (playoffs included) since joining Detroit after four seasons with Chicago. The 27-year-old is averaging 4.4 yards per carry with a career-high 57.2 percent success rate.

Meanwhile, St. Brown will look to avoid missing his first game since Week 5 of the 2023 season. He's accumulated the NFL's fourth-most receptions (71) with 747 yards and nine touchdowns.

"Yeah, I feel good," Brown said Tuesday when asked if he expects to play, per Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News. "You know, we got a day left to go. Short week, but I feel good."

Montgomery and Brown have helped the Lions score an NFL-high 32.7 points per game amid a 10-1 campaign. They've cleared 40 points four times during an ongoing nine-game winning streak.

Once considered an unappealing Thanksgiving appetizer, the Lions are now this Thursday's main attraction. They're 10-point favorites to beat the Bears, who have scored 73 points during a five-game losing spell.

The Thanksgiving Day matchup begins at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
